Write the bill, the tip in percent and the number of people. The split function divides to the cent and shows who pays the extra cent.
(bill + tip) / 5 is a plain division, with fractions. split(amount; 5) divides to the cent: when the amount does not divide evenly, a note shows who pays a cent more. For shared trip expenses, write each cost on a line, then total and split(total; 4).
Keep the tip as a percentage: tip: 18%. Then bill + tip gives the amount with the tip, and the percentage can be changed on one line.
| You type | You get |
|---|---|
| 44.25 | |
| 333.34 | |
| 46.88 | |
| 3 437.5 | |
| 6 875 |
An amount cannot always be divided evenly. The calculator divides to the cent, and the extra cent goes to the first share, as the note under the answer shows.
Write the shares as separate lines: bill * 40% for one person and bill * 60% for the other. All lines stay on the sheet.
